Bradford Count: This represents fibre fineness and length. The figure represents the theoretical length of yarn which can be spun from one pound of wool and is quoted in "hanks". 1 hank = 560 yards Therefore, 1lb of 64's quality could be spun into 64 x 560 yards of yarn. The higher the Bradford Count the finer the quality. Where we have stated colours these are, of course, just an indication as each fleece varies and "white" is not going to look like a bleached white as "black" will not be like a dyed black. |
